Laboratory Chemist

The position is full-time (Fixed term contract) and focused on day-to-day analysis in client's laboratory. The Laboratory Supervisor team will provide training and outline expectations. Day-to-day analysis of gas, oil, and water for both upstream and midstream operations at the laboratory will be required.
What You will do:
• Manage and develop of long-standing client relationships, with an intense focuson exceeding client expectations and driving service delivery.
• Deliver a hands-on approach to service.
•Deliver value through developing and managing technical projects to solvecustomer problems.
•Participate in and promote a safety culture both internally and through client engagement.
• Monitor chemical sales, inventory, and related efficiencies.
•Conduct basic on-site chemical analysis as a check of site's equipment, reagents, and techniques.
• Calibrate chemical treatment program equipment.
System Walk-Through: Visual inspection of operating chemical feed and controlequipment.
• Formal and informal training with operating personnel and laboratory techniciansin safety, chemical treatment, and performance of the system.
• Maintain ongoing monitoring programs on systems.
• Perform other routine diagnostic services: additional routine services(microbiological, dissolved oxygen testing, paraffin analysis, etc.) as requested.
• Investigate any material failures
Safety responsibilties
Adhere to company Safety policies, procedures, and rules and follow safework practices.
•Participate in team consultation meetings to discuss workplace safety in the department.
•Report any hazards as soon as you notice them and participate in risk assessments as requested.
Assist in the identification of control measures to eliminate or minimize the risk of injury.
• Attend OHS training as required.
• Wear personal protective equipment as required for various tasks and report any worn out or defective equipment.
•Participate in OHS activities such as inspections, investigations, OHS meetings as required from time to time.
Minimum Requirements*
• A Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science or related Discipline.
• Solid experience in servicing a technical product in the oil, gas and utility chemical market.
• A strong safety focus.
• Business acumen and technical skills that will allow you to provide value to your customers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an accomplished communicator.
• Ability to work in a multinational, multidisciplinary team yet be self-motivated and a self-starter
•Personal drive and tenacity for sales growth, quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
• A valid and full driving license.
• Excellent computer skills.
