We have an immediate opening for an RD&E Group Leader for our Chemically Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR) Technology team in Sugar Land, TX. This individual will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of innovative technology solutions to achieve Recovery related business objectives. The CEOR RD&E Group Leader will report to the CEOR Technology Manager for the PCT Technology team and work in close collaboration with global business, Technology, New Product Development (NPD), Marketing, and Sales counterparts ensure inter-team and global connectivity.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the CEOR Technology team by ensuring all team members perform their duties safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards, while fostering innovation and continuous technical and personal/professional growth.

  • Lead and coordinate Technology resources both on direct team in Sugar Land, TX and globally in other locations in accordance with business strategy, needs, and impact.

  • Develops organizational talent and succession plans and provides ongoing coaching and mentoring for staff. Owns the strategy for team and organizational development, including safety and employee engagement.

  • Ensures ongoing external awareness of technology, competitors, and emerging and disruptive opportunities.

  • Engage directly with requestors to clarify needs, define project scope, and ensure alignment of expectations.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members to support effective and efficient daily operations.

  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as needed to support team growth and capability development.

  • Promote a culture of safety by modeling safe work practices and identifying opportunities for continuous safety improvement.

  • Manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

  • Actively participate in the broader RD&E community to contribute to business growth and cross-functional collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with 4 years of relevant work experience or M.S. with 6 years of relevant work experience or B.S. with 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Track record of successful technology development, new product / service launch and leveraging of external technology

  • Proven ability to motivate and lead individuals as part of a high-performing team.

  • Strong commitment to safety, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment, and promoting a safe work environment for colleagues and self.

  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both within and outside the business.

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Experience with enhanced oil recovery methods/business.

  • Experience with Specialty Chemicals in the Oil & Gas industry.

Physical Demands:

  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
