We are looking for a Shop Mechanic located in Odessa, TX, this role is responsible for installs, maintains, and repairs hydraulic jet pumps, high-pressure fluid systems. This is your opportunity to join a global technology company, driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems
Diagnose faults in pumps, valves, motors, and hydraulic lines; replace or repair defective components
Test repaired or newly installed systems to ensure optimal pressure, flow, and efficiency
Tear down units, disassemble pumps for inspection
Minor welds on bracing for piping, etc.
Reassemble units, prep for test
Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
Contributes to the departments continuous improvement culture.
Others duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and/or experience
2 years of similar work experience in a technical field/mechanic position
Welding experience
Experience using hand tools
Strong mechanical skills, preferred expertise with jet pumps
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to identify and resolve problems.
Good oral and written communication skills, able to express thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing, using good grammar.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite

The employee is regularly required to stand for the entire work day.
The employee regularly lifts and carries 20 lbs regularly, and 50 lbs occasionally.
Work is primarily executed on the production floor, with varying temperatures and high levels of noise; personal safety equipment such as glasses and protective shoes may be required.
Exposure to shop elements, such as, dust, petroleum-based products, and other chemicals.
Work may require visits to customer field locations in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
May include working nights, weekends, and/or extended hours as the business need arises.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
Preferred Qualifications:
Oil and gas industry experience, preferred jet pumps
Good mechanical skills, able to perform mechanical field maintenance work to ensure optimal availability and reliability of artificial lift equipment.
Reliable and dependability, follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
Teamwork/Relationships, able to work with others willingly and in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Demonstrates a commitment to the entire organization and is supportive of all initiatives to help grow the team.
