Meet the Next Generation of Innovative Influencers
Engineers honored as “Energy Influencers” by SPE for their role driving innovation sustainably.
The Way Ahead (TWA) magazine, the publication of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has recognized their twelve “TWA Energy Influencers 2020” – and three of them are engineers from Schlumberger.
The TWA flagship program celebrates young professionals in the energy industry who display excellence and integrity, or who demonstrate innovation, social responsibility, sustainability, and passion for safety. These are the young professionals that are truly energizing our industry while simultaneously adding value to society. And you can meet the Schlumberger influencers below.
Mervin Azeta, Product and Service Delivery (PSD) Manager
Mervin Azeta is a Product and Service Delivery (PSD) Manager working in our Sand Management Services.
An advocate for sustainable development, gender equality, and youth engagement in energy policy, Mervin represented Africa at the 2019 Ministerial Summit in Ethiopia convened by the International Energy Agency and Africa Union (AU) Commission to accelerate sustainable energy development in Africa. She spoke as a voice of women and youth in the industry, while also representing Schlumberger. Afterward, she was invited by the AU Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy to join the African Network for Women in Infrastructure.
Shubham Mishra, Reservoir Engineer
Shubham Mishra is a reservoir engineer within Software Integrated Solutions (SIS) who is also playing a key role in the reservoir management aspect of India’s first digital oilfield project.
As an SPE Young Professional committee chair for SPE Mumbai, Shubham has helped drive engagement among the group by organizing community outreach events such as a local festival for starting professionals, clothing donation drive, technical talk series, and hygiene awareness campaign for women.
Wassem M. Alward, Service Delivery Engineer
A service delivery engineer based in Iraq, Wassem M. Alward has more than eight years of experience in different exploration and production (E&P) domains.
Using his wide range of expertise in the subsurface disciplines, Wassem has published technical papers on advanced reservoir characterization methods and showcased some first-time applications in petrophysics. A member of SPE since 2012, Wassem frequently volunteers with SPE and was recently appointed to join the board of SPE Digital Energy Technical Section as an administrative chair. He is a certified instructor and regularly teaches courses in geology, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering to E&P companies.
