Supporting Veterans in our Communities

Schlumberger is committed to empowering former military service members

Supporting former military service members is a cornerstone of Global Stewardship at Schlumberger. The company’s veteran program seeks to empower veterans through successful recovery and transition after military service.

Through this program, Schlumberger supports, hosts or participates in veteran community engagement events at universities, military bases and company facilities, as well as offering professional development and educational programs for transitioning veterans.

As part of these initiatives, this year we supported the French Consulate in Houston to locate and honor U.S. WWII veterans who were deployed to France. After a nearly year-long effort supported by Honor Flight Houston, we helped the French Consulate General present eight veterans with the Legion of Honor medal, France's highest award of merit for military and civilian achievements. One of those being honored was an Army Nurse Corps WWII veteran, who celebrated her 100th birthday in July 2020.

“Schlumberger is proud to support and employ former military service members,” says Nick Tran, Community and Veteran Affairs Manager for Schlumberger, “the main goal of our program is to help veterans reintegrate back into society and the workforce—we do this for any former service member, whether or not they come work for our company.”

Schlumberger has been recognized for the fourth year in a row as a Military Friendly Employer—an annual survey which identifies organizations demonstrating commitment to career opportunities for veterans as well as investing in programs that enhance their lives.
