Schlumberger partners with Net Zero Technology Centre’s entrepreneurship engine to support clean energy start-ups
As an industry leader and a company that believes strongly in the power of technology to create change, Schlumberger announced its commitment to net zero by 2050 last year. Today, we are taking climate action by developing robust roadmaps to address our own greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, embracing ventures in low carbon energy, and developing technologies and solutions to help our customers reduce their own GHG emissions.
Many of the key aspects of how our industry can, and must change, hinge on collaboration. To make the impact we need by 2050, partnerships that span across companies and even different industries will help us deliver the solutions that can get us to a decarbonized future faster—from collaborating with established organizations to emerging start-ups.
That’s why Schlumberger is now a delivery partner to TechX, the Net Zero Technology Centre’s entrepreneurship engine. The TechX program seeks to provide clean energy start-ups and early-stage businesses with the tools, support, and resources they need to grow, accelerating the transition to an affordable net zero energy industry.
As a TechX delivery partner, Schlumberger will also offer expert mentoring and insights to help the entrepreneurs accelerate their clean energy start-ups and early-stage businesses.
“Quantifying both technology functionality and environmental impact using robust science-based methodologies is fundamental to contributing the energy transition,” said Karen Spenley, Schlumberger Technology Sustainability Advisor and TechX mentor. “As a delivery partner to TechX we are able to share what we have learnt from quantifying the environmental impact of our technologies—from taking a lifecycle approach to defining the scope to data availability—fast-tracking the start-ups into the energy transition space.”.
