Dipika is committed to making a positive impact for current and future women in STEM

With a degree in Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Telecommunication from Pune University, Dipika was looking for an opportunity to expand her expertise in cutting-edge electronics. After an SLB university engagement, she chose to join SLB to be an integral part of teams that are truly at the forefront of facing the challenge of creating amazing technology that will be needed to survive harsh conditions and continually evolve them to meet new demands.

Joining SLB as an Electrical Component Engineer in the newly established STS-I Pune Centre, Dipika was one of the pioneering members in setting up the electrical team. Her passion for continuous improvement has led her to multiple different roles and has even been deployed overseas to Malaysia for one assignment. Now, she is the Team Lead for the Engineering Design Services Group, which includes fifteen employees all with different skills and backgrounds, “leading a team with such a diverse work portfolio involves learning and adapting almost daily and maintaining the necessary level of expertise in various subjects to mentor and support the team.” In addition, she has been able to make a positive impact outside of her team by participating in sustainability, automation, and digital growth initiatives.

“Sometimes we do not realize our own potential until we push ourselves. SLB has a lot to offer if you are ready to see every challenge as an opportunity to grow.”

However, it is not only the amazing technology that has kept her at SLB for the last fifteen years but the people as well. Dipika has been able to work with teams across the globe that have mentored her and supported her both inside and outside of work, “I am very appreciative of every colleague, team member, and manager with whom I have worked so far. Each of them has played a role, be it big or small, in shaping my career.” She has also been part of the global Connect Women, our Employee Resource Group, leadership team for the past two years. Connect Women is a dedicated SLB program and support network designed to help women accelerate their careers in technology with over 11,000 members. By being part of this influential and important group, Dipika has been able to see the different obstacles women face in their careers. She is committed to making a positive impact for current and future women in STEM.

Dipika’s advice to anyone considering entering into a career with SLB is to “be flexible and keep an open mind to opportunities that may come along. “Sometimes we do not realize our own potential until we push ourselves. SLB has a lot to offer if you are ready to see every challenge as an opportunity to grow.”
