Three engineers managing oil and gas operations across three continents, in real time, from one of SLB’s digital service delivery centers.

That's the everyday reality inside SLB's Performance Live™ Centers (PLC), where engineers aren’t being assigned to a single rig, well, or country, and work as an integrated team delivering operations across over 70 well sites. Powered by connected, intelligent, and increasingly autonomous solutions, engineers in the digital centers work with real-time operational data that lets them adjust operations faster and boost performance.

For Cadu, Linda, and Mark, working in SLB’s Performance Live™ centers changed how daily oil and gas operations run and what the job of a field engineer looks like.

Linda has been a production engineer for over 20 years, long enough to have seen the job evolve. "If you’re working in the field with over a thousand wells, there’s no possibility for you to go and maintain each one of them. So, you have to decide on which ones you need to focus your attention on" she says. It was a career built on constant triage. Today, from the PLC, she can be present, in a real sense, for a single well or 450 of them at once.

"When I walk into the Performance Live Center™, I see the world open in front of me."

The holistic, real-time view of operations is what excites Mark. He was the first wireline engineer hired into the Performance LiveTM center and has since worked more than 500 projects worldwide from a single connected workstation. What he didn't expect was the strong collaboration that happens in the centers, and how much closer that would bring him to his colleagues. While he may be sitting and working on a project happening in the US, the engineers next to him might be performing operations in Guyana or Oman.

"A well construction engineer can walk across the hall and discuss an issue with a production engineer to find a solution. That feedback loop and direct collaboration wasn't possible before and really contributes to our success."

Want to see what that looks like in practice? Watch Cadu, Linda, and Mark talk through a day in the PLC!

For Cadu, who leads the Performance Live program globally, that cross-discipline collaboration is the whole point. Engineers from different teams and with different scopes used to work in silos. Now they sit in the same space, sharing the same information about the same wells.

"Performance Live Centers are the bridge between the digital and tactical, allowing us to optimize operations, enrich the lives of our engineers, and deliver results to our clients no matter where they are."

These collaborative environments uniquely combine SLB’s digital solutions with high-level domain expertise, turning real-time data from connected equipment into the insights needed to monitor, control, and safely execute operations. And that combination is what Linda means when she calls the PLC "the digital incubator of opportunities”, a place where a career grows by working across multiple contexts at once.

That's the version of "on-site" Cadu, Linda, and Mark have built their careers around and that’s how SLB helps you take your performance to the next level.
